Writer: Andy EvansAndy Evans

We have some fantastic news to share with all our Erig the Earwig readers!

The Little Adventures of Erig the Earwig has been named a FINALIST in the Wishing Shelf Book Awards for the 6-8 years category! 🎉

The Wishing Shelf Book Awards is a prestigious children’s book competition, judged by real children, parents, and teachers. This means that young readers themselves have enjoyed, loved, and connected with Erig’s adventures—and that’s the best award we could ask for!

Why This Means So Much

When we first set out on this journey with Erig, our goal was simple: to bring joy, adventure, and a love for nature to young readers. We wanted to create stories that spark curiosity about the tiny creatures living in our gardens, and to inspire children to see the world from a whole new perspective.

To know that children have chosen Erig’s story as one of their favourites is an incredible honor!

A Little Adventure That’s Making a Big Impact!

🐞 What makes Erig special?

Exciting adventures that captivate young imaginations.

Friendship, bravery, and teamwork woven into every story.

Real insect facts to educate and inspire future nature lovers.

Beautiful illustrations that bring the Long Garden to life.

Join the Celebration! 🎉

We’ll be celebrating Erig’s finalist status with a special library event at Woodseats Library, Sheffield on 11th April, 2025—perfect for young bookworms who love adventure! Come along for a fun-filled storytelling session, interactive activities, and a chance to meet Erig and his insect friends.
